Santa Fe.- Named after a city in Spain, the Island has an area of 24 square kilometers and a maximum altitude of 259 meters. Santa Fe houses a forest of Opuntia Cactus, the largest in the archipelago, as well as Palo Santo. Weathered cliffs provide a haven for swallow-tailed gulls, red-billed tropic birds, and shear-waters petrels. Santa Fe species of Galapagos Land Iguanas are often seen, as well as lava lizards. It also has a picturesque turquoise lake with serene waters where snorkeling among Sea Lions can be practiced.
