Galapagos cruises and tours, New Flamingo YachtRábida.- This island takes its name from the convent of Rabida, the place where Columbus left his son during his journey that would lead them to the discovery of America. It has an area of 4.9 square kilometers and the highest point is at 367 meters. Because of the really high content of iron from lava here at Rabida, the Island appears to have a reddish shade. On occasion it is common to see Flamingoes in a salt water lagoon near the beach, where pelicans and boobies build their nests. Nine species of finches have been registered on this island.
